When it comes to love, London isn’t typically thought of as being a haven of romance unlike its European counterparts, Venice with its idyllic gondolas or Paris’s romantic atmosphere. However, London does have a magical quality to it that makes everything so much more special, including adding a romantic sparkle to anything you plan to do as a couple.

You could begin by choosing to stay at a place in the heart of the city to facilitate travel around the city. The hotels near Lancaster gate would perfectly fit the bill as they are in the centre of the city.

An elegant option would be the Park Grand London Lancaster Gate hotel that is luxurious with the best of facilities, without costing the earth. And with its location in Central London the both of you   will be in the centre of all the action!  So whether you are in London for a holiday with your partner or visiting the city for your honeymoon, there are some wonderful spots in the city to spend quality time with each other.

There are plenty of romantic locations to choose from and ample romantic options to try out as couple which will strengthen the romantic bond that exists between the both of you. Some of these include the following:

Have a romantic picnic in Richmond Park:

There is nothing quite like spending a romantic afternoon together, amidst the magnificent scenery of Richmond Park. And the good thing is that despite being close to the centre of London you will fill that you are somewhere in the rustic countryside. Richmond Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the serene and aesthetic surroundings. You could make it all the more memorable by packing a picnic hamper filled with romantic treats and a bottle or two of fine wine. Enjoy the sunshine and spend truly romantic moments together while you watch the resident deer wander across the park.

The London Eye:

A favourite with visitors to the city, you will find the queue extra long on Valentine’s Day. While it may not seem too big a deal, taking a ride on in one its capsules late in the evening is an experience not to be missed. To indulge the both of you, order for their special champagne package and rent out the capsule for just the both of you. It is one of the most romantic spots to be in together as a couple watching the wonderfully lit London skyline in the dark of the night! It is literally a heady experience of a different kind!

Enjoy time together by the banks of the Thames:

You do not have to spend a small fortune at some fancy restaurant to enjoy a romantic rendezvous together. There is nothing quite like spending time together by the Thames River together enjoying each other’s company. To find more secluded spots along the banks of the river you could try Chiswick and Barnes or the Barnes area, which tend to be less crowded with visitors. Carry a rug and some fine white wine while watching the boats on the river float by. These are idyllic spots in the summer and a great way to spend time together as a couple!

Watch the Sun set on Primrose Hill:

When it comes to great vantage points in London there are quite a few scattered across the city. But one of the best spots to see London from a different perspective is atop Primrose Hill. It is a bit of a climb but well worth the effort, as once you are at the top you will see the most breathtaking views of the city. A great place to visit as a couple there is nothing more romantic than seeing the Sun set over the city as dusk approaches. With benches to sit and enjoy the stunning scenery below it makes for the ideal destination to spend a romantic date as a couple. While London for sure does not offer punting like Cambridge it compensates with rowing or boating on the Serpentine Lake in scenic Hyde Park. Visitors may rent either a pedalo or a rowing boat and spend a chilled out afternoon with their partner on the lake. To make it all the more enjoyable you could pack for a picnic, with a bottle of bubbly and enjoy the sights and sound of Hyde Park from a different angle.  Hyde Park is way above your average park and is one of the most famous of the eight Royal Parks in London. Located in the heart of the city there are ample secluded spots on the lake and in the park to spend a cosy time together revelling in each other’s company. With a fantastic lush green wooded area to explore together and an opportunity to go boating on the lake it is the perfect romantic getaway in the centre of London.

Enjoy a movie at the Electric Cinema:

One of the finest cinema experiences to enjoy, watching a movie at the Electric Cinema is quite like anything else. With waiter service, a comfy bed or sofa (depending upon your choice) it is a great place to watch a movie as a couple. You could choose to watch a movie either at their Shoreditch location or Notting Hill, whichever is more convenient. While the tickets are priced well above the average cost it is worth every penny spent. After all where do you get to snuggle up comfortably on a warm bed or couch, while watching a movie and snacking on delectable treats. A great place to enjoy a romantic evening together as a couple!
