1. Visit New York

New York City is the most popular tourist destination in the USA and there’s plenty of reasons for that.  Everyone wants to visit, most want to live in the Big Apple.  There’s so much to see and do you’ll need two weeks to take it all in and create a lifetime of memories.  From walking around Central Park, seeing the Empire State Building or visiting the Rockefeller Center – there’s iconic landmark after landmark in this city and something to keep you entertained throughout your trip.

2. Visit the Grand Canyon

18 miles wide, over one mile deep and 277 miles long, the Grand Canyon is one of the most famous landmarks in the world.  Admire the view and then hike into the canyon for an adventure of a lifetime. Why not sleep in a traditional Navajo home, swim in natural pools and take a trip on the river to make your visit even more memorable.  There’s also the beautiful scenery of Monument Valley, Zion, Moab and Arches National Parks.

3. See the Statue of Liberty

Standing 150 feet tall, the Statue of Liberty in New York’ Harbor is arguably the most famous and iconic statue in the world. You can book a cruise to make your visit and then continue on to Ellis Island and the Immigration Museum.

4. Visit Disneyland

The Walt Disney World entertainment complex in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, is the flagship destination of Disney’s worldwide corporate enterprise. It has been open for 45 years now and is the most-visited holiday resort in the world, with more than 52 million people visiting annually.

5. Walk in Hollywood

A neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California, Hollywood is notable for its place as the home of the US film industry.  This includes several of its historic studios. It has endless tourist attractions – the Hollywood Sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, Madame Tussauds and the Universal CityWalk just to name a few.

6. Spend a Weekend in Vegas

If spending a weekend playing high-stakes tables is a step too far, you can take a soft start by checking out a few USA casinos ahead of your trip to learn more and practice your gambling skills.

7. Hiking Along the Appalachian Trail

Or if you are into your walking adventures, the Appalachian Trial is the world’s longest-marked hiking trail and is a star of books and films.  It crosses 14 states and is 2,160 miles in length.  New York is the most popular state of which the trail is located, but for a more quirky trip you may want to visit Georgia, Tennessee or North Carolina.

8. Surf in Hawaii

The birthplace of surfing and a very hot destination to visit.  Hawaii is the 50th and most recent US state and its diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, numerous public beaches, oceanic surroundings and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists and surfers alike.  It’s certainly a recommendation for someone who likes a lot of waking and sport on their holidays.

9. Drive Route 66

If you prefer driving to your physical exercise, then why not drive one of the most famous routes in the world.  Route 66 was one of the original highways in the country, dating back to 1926.  It originally ran from Chicago, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa Monica, California.  The journey covers a total of 2,448 miles so make sure you have enough petrol in your tank!

10. Walk around Yosemite Park

Head to California to view a park full of more natural wonders than you’ll see in almost any other US destination.  Yosemite Park is the jewel of the national parks, showcasing North America’s highest waterfall, the world’s tallest uninterrupted granite monolith and glorious mountains.
